A Rigger is the person who attaches a load to the crane using lifting attachments. An in-house Qualified Rigger that has passed a written and a practical test will receive a Qualification card stating they have completed and met the requirements set forth be OSHA 1926-1400.
The purpose of the In-house Qualification Program is to set standards for measuring the knowledge and proficiency required for safe rigging practices. Based on extensive discussions with representatives from all segments of business and industry who recognize the impact of construction safety issues.
The Crane School has identified the following potential benefits of rigging Qualification:
Fewer accidents, injuries, and fatalities
Assurance of rigger’s abilities to properly rig loads
Less property damage
Proper rigging inspection
All candidates are required to pass both the written and practical examination(s) in order to be Qualified
