Crane Operator Training Locations Across the United States

Train at our Seffner, Florida center, or bring NCCCO prep and practical exams to your company's site in almost any state.

How our crane operator training locations work

When people search for crane operator training locations, they usually expect a list of campuses. Our model is different. The Crane School has one training center, in Seffner, Florida, and reaches the rest of the country by sending instructors and examiners to you.

That gives you two ways to train:

  • Travel to Seffner for an open-enrollment class with our cranes, classroom and exam schedule.
  • Host training at your site so a scheduled program, including the required NCCCO exams, takes place where your crew already works.

Pick your state below to see how training typically works there, including notes on any state or city licensing you should check before work starts. Whichever state you choose, the federal OSHA crane rules apply, and the certifications your operators earn are national NCCCO credentials.

Our Seffner, Florida training center

Our headquarters at 10929 E. US-92 in Seffner sits east of Tampa, with Tampa International Airport as the nearest major airport. Open classes run here year-round, CCO written exams are offered every month, and students practice on telescopic and lattice boom cranes in our yard.

Many students fly or drive in from other states. If you are coming from out of town, check the upcoming class dates and ask about discounted lodging near the school.

On-site training and practical exams nationwide

For employers, the most practical option is often on-site training. Our instructors can deliver prep courses for mobile cranes, articulating cranes, telehandlers, riggers and signalpersons at your facility, and because our staff includes NCCCO accredited practical examiners, CCO practical exams can be scheduled almost anywhere in the country.

Training on your own equipment and ground conditions means less travel for your crew and less downtime for the job. Every program still covers the federal OSHA requirements that apply in all states. Where a state or city has its own crane operator licensing, we flag it so you can confirm current rules with the local agency.
