The Crane School is hiring an instructor for our training facility in Seffner, east of Tampa. If you have spent years in the seat and want to pass that knowledge on, this is a chance to shape new operators and help experienced ones certify. Among crane instructor jobs in Florida, this role is well suited to someone who has taught before or wants to grow into training.
Our instructors teach classroom topics such as load charts, setup and OSHA rules, then coach students through seat time on our cranes as they prepare for NCCCO written and practical exams. Courses like our 3-week and 5-week initial mobile crane programs and monthly certification prep sessions are the core of the work.
What we're looking for
- At least 5 years of seat time, with 10 years preferred
- Current NCCCO certifications for TSS, TLL and LAT, or the ability to obtain them
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Willingness to travel for on-site training at client locations is welcome, but not required
- Patience and the ability to explain technical material in plain language
You will work alongside a team whose credentials include NCCCO certified operators, riggers, signalpersons and inspectors, as well as accredited practical examiners. Prior teaching or training experience is a plus, but steady judgment around equipment and a genuine interest in helping students succeed matter just as much.
