Keep Your Rigging Credential Current

The 2-day rigger recertification class is meant for riggers who already work in the field and need to renew their credential. Rules, hardware and job-site practices change over the years, and a structured refresher helps you catch habits that have drifted.

What We Review

  • Inspection criteria for slings, shackles, hooks and below-the-hook devices
  • Load weight calculations and center of gravity
  • Hitch selection and sling angle effects on capacity
  • Communication with operators and signalpersons
  • Current OSHA 1926 Subpart CC rigging requirements

Time is split between classroom review and hands-on rigging in the yard.

Before You Enroll

Tell the office what credential you hold, an employer qualification or an NCCCO rigger certification, and when it expires. That lets us confirm the class matches your renewal needs, including whether any exams are involved. NCCCO certifications are valid for five years. More detail is on the rigger program page.

Common Gaps We See in Experienced Riggers

Riggers with years on the job are often strong on technique but rusty on the numbers. Sling angle reductions, choker hitch capacities and estimating the weight of irregular loads are the areas that tend to slip. Hardware inspection criteria are another, especially for synthetic slings, where the removal criteria are easy to forget. The refresher puts extra time on these points so you return to work with sharper judgment, not just a renewed card. Groups from one employer can ask about scheduling the class at their own site.

How to Request a Seat

Pay online with the secure checkout on this page, or submit the enrollment request form and include your current credential details so the office can confirm which exams you need before invoicing. The office follows up on every booking to confirm your seat.
