The Broadest Beginner Option

Think of the 5 week mobile crane class with lattice as the complete edition of the beginner mobile crane program we run in Seffner. On top of every topic from the three-week course, you spend added time on lattice boom cranes, which do much of the heavy lifting on big industrial and construction jobs. It is meant for newcomers who want to start their career qualified on a wider range of equipment.

Exams You Prepare For

By the end of the course you will be prepared for three NCCCO specialties:

  • TSS: telescopic boom, fixed cab
  • TLL: telescopic boom, swing cab
  • LAT: lattice boom machines, both crawler-mounted and truck-mounted

For every one of these you sit a knowledge test and then show your skills at the controls. NCCCO issues the certification, which is valid for five years.

Schedule and What to Bring

Expect five full-time weeks in our Seffner, Florida, yard, with days running 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. No prior experience is required. Bring hard-toe footwear, a hard hat, gloves, work clothing, a government-issued photo ID and a driver's license in good standing. Pack sunglasses too: much of yard time is spent watching the boom tip against the Florida sky.

Requesting a Seat

Use the online checkout on this page to pay for your seat; if no start date is listed, pick "schedule with the office" and staff will set your dates with you. You can also send the request form and sort out payment by phone. Upcoming starts are posted on the training calendar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why add lattice boom training?

Lattice boom cranes handle many of the heaviest lifts in construction. Adding the LAT specialty means you can be considered for work on a wider range of cranes.

Is there a lattice-only option?

Yes. If crawler-mounted lattice machines are your only goal, look at the 4 Week Lattice Crane Class.
