Focused on Lattice Boom Crawlers

The 4 week lattice crane class is for students who want to specialize in lattice boom operation. Lattice boom crawler cranes are assembled from boom sections and move on tracks, and they are used for heavy and long-reach lifts. Running one well takes an understanding of assembly, ground conditions and charts that differ from hydraulic cranes.

This course spends four weeks on that equipment, with a strong emphasis on on-site crane practice.

What the Class Covers

  • Lattice boom configurations and how they affect capacity
  • Reading and applying lattice boom load charts
  • Ground bearing, travel and setup for crawler cranes
  • Smooth load control and swing technique
  • Preparation for the NCCCO LAT written and practical exams

NCCCO issues the LAT certification after you pass both exams.
