What's included

  • NCCCO practical exam on a lattice boom crane
  • Exam held at our Seffner, FL training yard
  • No classroom session required

Hands-On Lattice Boom Testing

The LAT practical lets experienced lattice boom operators complete the hands-on portion of the NCCCO LAT certification without sitting through classroom sessions. The exam focuses entirely on operation: smooth control, accurate load placement and safe technique on a lattice boom crane.

Format and Timing

Practical exams in the monthly Mobile Crane Operator Certification Prep Program take place on Friday at our Seffner, Florida, facility. If you also need the written exams, pair this with the recertification prep class. NCCCO requires both exams to be passed within its allowed window.

Prerequisites

This option is meant for operators with lattice boom experience. If it has been a while since you ran one, book Lattice Practice Per Hour first; three to four hours is our usual recommendation. Bring hard-toe footwear, a hard hat, gloves, work clothes and a government-issued photo ID.

Tips for a Smooth Exam

Arrive rested and early enough to settle in. Listen to the examiner's instructions fully before you start, and do not rush; smooth, controlled movements matter more than speed. Lattice boom cranes carry more momentum than telescopic machines, so start and stop functions gently and anticipate load swing. If you have practiced recently, trust that preparation.

Requesting an Exam Slot

Choose a monthly session date and pay for the LAT practical in the online checkout on this page, or submit the enrollment request form and the office will confirm the date and payment with you.
